Hush Data & Calling - Private eSim Data Plan
Combining GrapheneOS, Silent.link, and JMP.chat (via Cheogram) is widely considered the gold standard for anonymous, decoupled mobile connectivity.
Traditional mobile plans tie your identity, your phone number, your cellular data, and your physical location into a single unified profile tied to an IMEI and SIM serial number (IMSI). This setup completely deconstructs that link.
How the Combo Works
This architecture decouples every layer of your phone’s connectivity:
The Operating System (GrapheneOS): Serves as your hardened base. It eliminates background Google tracking, isolates app permissions, and prevents system-level telemetry.
The Data Layer (Silent.link): Provides a cellular data-only eSIM without Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements. You purchase it anonymously using cryptocurrency (like Monero or Bitcoin). It connects your device to local cell towers strictly for raw internet access, giving you no usable phone number on the SIM level.
The Phone & Messaging Layer (JMP.chat + Cheogram): JMP.chat gives you a real phone number (US/Canada) mapped to an open-standard XMPP (Jabber) address. Instead of placing calls or texts over traditional cellular voice networks, calls and SMS/MMS are routed entirely as encrypted data packets over the internet. Cheogram is the open-source XMPP Android client that integrates with GrapheneOS to make JMP.chat feel like a native phone app.

Data Route: Silent.link provisions an eSIM directly onto GrapheneOS (which manages eSIM activation securely without Google Play Services). The cell provider only sees an anonymous data stream; they have no name, credit card, or personal ID associated with the account.
Calling/Texting Route: When someone calls your JMP.chat number, JMP bridges the PSTN (public telephone network) to the XMPP network. Cheogram receives this over your Silent.link data connection (or Wi-Fi).
Native OS Integration: Cheogram leverages Android's system integration. It hooks directly into the native system dialer and contacts, allowing you to answer incoming VoIP calls and dial out just like a standard smartphone.
Core Benefits & Features
Feature / Benefit
How It Protects You
No KYC (Zero Real-Name Identity)
You can buy Silent.link with crypto (Monero/BTC) and JMP.chat with crypto or prepaid cards. No credit check, no photo ID, and no name linked to the account.
Carrier Decoupling
The cellular provider carrying your data traffic does not know your phone number. Your phone number provider (JMP.chat) does not know your physical cell tower locations.
Mitigation of SIM Swapping
Traditional SIMs can be hijacked via social engineering at carrier stores. JMP.chat numbers live on an XMPP server, meaning hackers cannot perform a standard SIM swap to steal 2FA codes.
Cell Tower Location Privacy
Traditional voice SIMs constantly broadcast a phone number and IMSI to towers. A data-only eSIM removes phone-number tracking at the tower level.
Multi-Device Sync
Because JMP.chat relies on XMPP/Jabber, you can log into your phone number account simultaneously on a laptop (using an XMPP client like Gajim), a tablet, or another phone.
End-to-End Encryption Capable
When messaging other XMPP/Cheogram users, you can use OMEMO encryption (Signal protocol) for true end-to-end encrypted chats alongside standard SMS bridging.
