Welcome. If you came here looking for headshots of founders standing in minimalist offices with folded arms, holding coffee mugs, or staring intensely out a window while looking disruptive, you’re in the wrong place. We don't know who you are, and frankly, we like it that way. In fact, if you go to our contact form, please feel free to use a fake name because we don't need your real one. We don't collect it, we don't need it to help you, and we'd rather not know things about you that we don't need to know.

Who We Are

We are members of the open-source privacy community, and we welcome you to it too. It is a vast, decentralized ecosystem, and while tracking counter-surveillance metrics is intentionally difficult, the scale of the movement is massive. Roughly 500,000 active global users run privacy-first operating systems like GrapheneOS with North America accounting for a massive chunk, while an estimated two to five million active users rely on security-hardened Linux distributions like Qubes OS or Tails. Behind all of that code sit over 180 million registered developers collaborating globally on public repositories, backed by an elite tier of core maintainers and professional security researchers who handle the critical daily auditing and code merging.

 

Why You Shouldn't Trust Us

Most companies ask you to trust them by putting pictures of friendly people on a website, adding a secure badge to the checkout button, and publishing a privacy policy while asking you to hand over your data and pinky-promise they'll treat it nicely. We think that's completely backwards. We are privacy enthusiasts who care deeply about what we sell and how we operate, but you shouldn't blindly trust us or any other company with your digital life simply because the website looks nice or the marketing sounds convincing. Blind trust is a vulnerability, so instead of asking you to trust us, we prefer to build a business where you don't have to.

 

What We Actually Do

What we actually do is curate and prepare high-end, beautifully crafted hardware for people who want to gently reclaim ownership of their digital lives without needing a computer science degree, a bunker in the woods, or a suspicious amount of knowledge about command-line interfaces. We focus on open-source and hardened platforms, including devices running GrapheneOS and Linux, offering privacy technology without the paranoia.

• Whenever possible, we favor open-source projects that allow their claims to be inspected, tested, and independently verified because trust us is not a particularly satisfying answer.

 

Friendly DIY and the Decentralized Way

You also don't need to be a cyberpunk hacker to own your data. If you are comfortable flashing your own device, wonderful, and we will give you the information and resources to do it yourself, but if you'd rather have someone else handle the technical bits, that's what we're here for. DIY isn't a moral virtue, it's just an option, and we'd much rather teach you how something works than make you dependent on us forever. We're particularly fond of solutions that reduce the number of people you have to trust, so if you can accomplish something without relying on us, we'll tell you how. Use us because we're useful and not because we're asking for your blind faith.

 

The Faceless Reality

You may have noticed there are no founder biographies, team photos, or names accompanied by professional headshots and carefully selected hobbies on this page. We believe privacy is a principle worth applying to ourselves too, and we don't think you need our names or faces to decide whether what we sell is worthwhile.

What matters is the hardware, the software, the documentation, the way we operate, and whether our claims can be independently verified. A privacy company shouldn't need to prove its credibility by putting a photograph of someone on a website because the proof should be in the technology itself, allowing you to inspect, verify, and modify it so the dynamic shifts from trust us to here, check for yourself.

Privacy technology has accumulated a heavy aesthetic over the years involving black hoodies, green terminal text, anonymous figures in dark rooms, and a general sense that the government, your refrigerator, and your neighbor are all conspiring against you, but we're taking a different approach where privacy is comfortable, beautiful, and entirely ordinary. You can have a great phone, a beautiful laptop, and a modern digital life without handing every detail of that life to companies you've never heard of, meaning you don't need to become a security expert, disappear from the internet, or change everything at once. That is the whole idea of how we operate, so take a look around, ask questions, read the documentation, verify things for yourself, and choose the level of DIY that's right for you.
